A recent graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, Sam Borchart is JMI Reports, Inc.’s newest audit analyst. Graduating in May with a degree in psychology and a minor in philosophy, Sam was looking for a position in the communications field. His friendship with Audit Analyst Jordan Zban led him to JMI to interview for the same position.
“We’ve gone to school together since seventh grade,” Sam said of Jordan, noting that his friend spoke highly of the company and the job and told him more analysts were needed. “I wanted to find something that would be valuable work experience, and auditing a business definitely gives me that communications experience.”
Sam grew up in Lodi, Ohio and graduated from Cloverleaf High School. While he majored in psychology, his involvement in his fraternity, Chi Phi, made him realize he wants to have a career in communications. He graduated in May and then was a non-profit strategist, doing work at the national fraternity level in Columbus through August. He continues to assist his college chapter when needed.
The work through his fraternity made him realize he would like to make communications a career.
“My dream job would be to have a communications consulting firm,” Sam said, noting that working at JMI is a great way to gain experience, especially with the number of phone calls audit analysts make. He said he was very impressed with JMI when he interviewed with Vice President of Product Assurance Rick Kuharik and Premium Audit Manager Zelda Emery.
“Rick was super approachable,” Sam said.
When Sam is not working at JMI, he loves to spend time with family and friends and to play video games.
Sam works at the home office in North Royalton.
