Olivia LaJudice started at JMI Reports two weeks ago as a Premium Audit analyst. Olivia owns a piano studio and was handling all the administrative tasks in addition to teaching. Her mother also teaches at the studio. LifeSong Studios in Brecksville, which she owns with her boyfriend, Kreg Hunter, who also recently started working as an audit analyst.
While she loves her piano business, she was looking for something else full time. Kreg had just started at JMI Reports and mentioned there might be an opening for a technology specialist.
“I applied for the IT job, but I am a data junkie and I thought audit would be neat and a great way to know the process and procedure of JMI,” Olivia said. “So far I really like audit. It’s a lot of customer service – of reaching out to people to say, ‘let’s get this done together’ which I like a lot.”
Olivia said she really likes JMI so far, noting how laid back and helpful people are.
“It is so interesting learning a new skill set,” she said, noting she continues to teach piano lessons on the weekends. While her class is for ages 5-7 years old, she and her mom have students of all ages, including an 86-year-old.
The oldest of four, she grew up in California and moved to Hinckley, Ohio when she was 15. After being home schooled through high school, she attended Heidelberg University where she met Kreg. When they aren’t working at JMI or running their piano studio – Kreg handles the marketing end of things – they like to play video games to unwind after a stressful day.
Olivia uses her love for music to relieve stress, and is focused on helping young students have the same appreciation she does for music.
“I can teach 5- to 7-year-olds improvisational programs for how it feels to play the piano,” she said. “It’s a really fun way to learn.”
